Catch Them Young (C.T.Y.) Project

Catch Them Young  provides educational support for children affected by leprosy, giving them the opportuntiy to break out of the cycle of poverty and support their families.

What we do: The "Catch Them Young Project" is an ongoing rehabilitation program run by TLM Hospital Purulia. The program addresses the needs of those who are affected by leprosy and the needs of their families.

Project Goal: Our goal is to provide those who are affected by leprosy access to education giving them dignity and the chance to participate in society. Leprosy affected children or the children whose parents are affected by leprosy often don't have proper access to higher education causing a cycle of poverty.

How we work: In the year 2014 C.T.Y. supported this target group by paying admission fees (school/college/IT), giving text books, pens, pencils, rubbers, drawing copy with colors, examination board, school bag, school shoes and other material which is needed for successful studying.

C.T.Y. also includes Community Awareness Programms, School Awareness Programms, Advocacy Programms, Student & Parents Counseling, etc.

To provide sustainable help, C.T.Y. meets every student every three month as follow up to make sure the student is continuing to study and is still motivated.
